Hong Kong University
Henri Arslanian is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Hong Kong University where he teaches graduate courses on Entrepreneurship in Finance as well as the first FinTech university course in Asia. He previously spent many years with UBS Investment Bank in Hong Kong and started his career as a financial markets and funds lawyer. A member of the Milken Institute’s Young Leaders Circle and with over 70,000 LinkedIn followers, Henri is a regular speaker on the topic of FinTech to various audiences, ranging from TEDx to Fortune 500 management teams. He also sits on a number of other finance, academic, civil society and FinTech related boards and advisory committees including the HKSFA FinTech Committee and the FSDC Fintech Advisory Team.
Janos Barberis is a Millennial in FinTech who is recognised as a top-35 global FinTech leader. He founded FinTech HK, a thought leadership platform, and the SuperCharger – a FinTech Accelerator that strategically leverages on Hong Kong as a gateway to Asia. In parallel, he sits on the advisory board of the World Economic Forum’s FinTech Committee and is a PhD Candidate at Hong Kong University Law School. Previously, Janos was the first hire at a prospective UK challenger bank, Lintel, helping it to secure a banking license from the PRA & FCA. This role followed a specialist interest developed over 7 years, in financial systems and their stability. He also introduced the framework of developing real-time and dynamic regulatory supervision models for financial networks.
Renu Bhatia is one of the Founding Partners and Managing Director of SuperCharger a dedicated Fintech accelerator in Hong Kong. She is also Co-founder of Asia Fintech Angels and President of Prospect Ventures, an angel investment group based in Hong Kong. She has extensive experience in investment banking, asset management and private investments, having worked at Goldman Sachs in New York and HSBC in Hong Kong. Renu is well versed in start-ups having started ChinaMD, and Tancho Investments, a realestate company developing residential and commercial real-estate in Hokkaido, Japan. Renu is an advisor to FintechHk, and is currently involved with several startups here in HK. Renu has an MBBS from the University of London and an MBA from Yale University.

Jayne is Head of StartmeupHK at InvestHK, the government department responsible for attracting and retaining Foreign Direct Investment into Hong Kong. StartmeupHK is InvestHK’s initiative aimed at helping founders of innovative and scalable startups and related community from overseas to set up or expand in Hong Kong. Prior to joining InvestHK, Jayne was Executive Director at the HK chapter of TiE, a global non-profit network focused on fostering entrepreneurship in the markets in which they operate, and management roles at digital agencies, e-business integrators and startup incubator.
Matt is a thought leader, speaker and trainer on financial services marketing, digital customer experience and innovation. Also he is a strategic experience and marketing expert specializing in digital, with over 20 years experience working in the complex global corporate environment of two of the World’s leading banks, he worked for HSBC, where he was global head of Internet strategy and head of digital experience for their global commercial banking division. In 2011, He founded Connected Thinking, providing digital strategy, marketing, and training to banks and insurers. He has spent the last two years consulting, focused on exciting and engaging customer solutions that are disrupting and transforming the financial services industry.

Amit is also the CEO and Founder of a 6 year old consulting practice, called GrowthPraxis, that focuses on Payments and Commerce space. He has had an illustrious career in the field of advisory and business research before becoming an entrepreneur.

Yu-Shin, is the chairman of the Fintech Center and the head of KoChi Economy and Finance Lab in South Korea. Hi is leading Fintech Center’s contribution to provide a pivotal channel of support and cooperation amongst fintech companies, financial industry, and the government. He is a professor at Sogang University Business School, where he teaches graduate courses on financial markets and fintech. Yu-Shin, started his career at Daewoo securities and his career path includes CEO of Standard Charted Securities Korea and CEO of Korea Venture Investment Corp. He has greatly influenced the fintech industry in Korea and is the author of a book “Fintech, seize the opportunity”.
Zennon Kapron is Founder and Manager at Kapronasia and Consultant at Finish Line Research. He has been published and mentioned in numerous online and offline industry publications and is a regular participant in industry events both in Asia and globally. Before Kapronasia, Zennon was the Global Banking Industry Manager for Intel based out of Shanghai, China and, prior to Intel, was the CIO for Citigroup Portugal. He earned his BS in Computer Science at Syracuse University in 1998. He earned his MBA at INSEAD in 2004.

Faisal Khan is an Advisor to the Digital Finance Institute and is a well-respected and prominent global Banking & Payments Consultant with his own firm, Faisal Khan based in Pakistan. Kwang-Hyun, is currently the head of D.Camp in Seoul, South Korea. D.Camp was established by the Bank Foundation for Young Entrepreneurs and it is Korea’s first integrated entrepreneurship hub. He has been dedicating to create new opportunities for the fintech startup ecosystem by combining the elements of investment, workspace, networking and mentoring. He constantly tries to enhance cooperation between major established firms and fintech startups.

Antony Lewis is positioned at R3 as the Director of the firm’s Lab & Research Centre in Singapore. Earlier he was formerly the director for business development in Asia at Singaporean bitcoin exchange itBit that recently rebranded itself under the Paxos brand. A bitcoin enthusiast, Lewis quit his job at Swiss bank Credit Suisse in 2013, before spending two years at the bitcoin exchange. In 2015, Lewis left itBit to become an independent blockchain researcher and consultant, before assuming his new role as director at R3’s research lab in Singapore.
Jungwook Lim is the managing director of Startup Alliance, a non-profit organization founded in 2013 to foster South Korea’s startup scene, connecting entrepreneurs, startups, tech companies, and the government. He spent time in Silicon Valley as a consultant for Daum and as CEO of Lycos. Today he helms Startup Alliance, drawing on his tech background and experience abroad to help the local startup ecosystem.

James Lloyd is a part of the EY Asia-Pacific Financial Services Organization (FSO), a fully dedicated and integrated entity with a unique approach focused exclusively on servicing the needs of EY’s clients in the financial services industry. Based in Hong Kong, James Lloyd will be responsible for advising EY clients on how best to identify and harness the opportunities presented by the application of new and emerging technologies to product and service delivery in the financial services industry. Previously, James worked with start-ups and fintechs across Asia and Europe and also with traditional financial institutions to transform their processes in order to better serve small businesses.
Ian Pollari is a partner in KPMG’s Financial Services practice and has over 14 years experience servicing clients in the banking industry. He is currently KPMG’s National Banking Sector Leader, leading the firm’s banking expertise across Audit, Tax and Advisory in Australia. Ian brings knowledge and insights into the experiences of local and international banks in Australia and Asia in areas such as strategy development, Fintech, innovation, market entry, bank licensing, governance, regulatory and risk management practices.

Alex has a really interesting background, born in Australia he spent his early career in the army and with Lend Lease, then worked locally and overseas with Nokia in the Middle East and for the last 3 years with Barclays in Londons Canary Wharf running key parts of their innovation agenda and most notably creating their Startup Accelerator program which has now also opened in New York. This program was so successful, that it drew attention from Australian companies and VC’s who were in the process of replicating the model here in Sydney. With Stone and Chalk finally in place, Alex and his Australian wife returned to Sydney as the new CEO.
Mikaal is the Co-Founder & CEO of 8 Securities, Asia’s first robo-advisor and $0 commission trading service. 8 Securities has licensed offices in Hong Kong and Tokyo and holds US$700M in customer assets. The business and has raised over US$30M in venture capital. Prior to starting 8 Securities, Mikaal was a Senior Vice President and the Head of Asia at E*TRADE. Mikaal began his career as a Senior Consultant at Deloitte in the United States. Mikaal has extensive international experience having launched and managed successful businesses and online consumer products across Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific, India and the North America. Mikaal holds a M.B.A from both Columbia University and the London Business School.
Teguh Ariwibowo is the CEO and Co-founder of Pinjam. Started bussines experience with Voila ( www.voila.co.id ) continue the journey at financial technology start up called pinjam ( www.pinjam.co.id ) as digital lending platform. His passion is about entrepreneurship. At 2013, just awarded as the most promising entrepreneur from Asia pacific entrepreneurship award by enterprise Asia.

Mr. Abhijit Bose is Co-Founder of Ezetap Mobile Solutions Pvt. Ltd. and serves as its Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Bose served as a Vice President of ngpay and Head of Product for Intuit’s small and medium business offering. He moved to Bangalore in 2005 as Siebel Systems’ Director for the Telecommunications market in Asia Pacific. He has a BS in Engineering from Cornell University and MBA from Harvard Business School. Previously, he was working in Siebel Systems in San Francisco and worked there for about five years before moving to India in 2005 to handle an Asia-Pacific responsibility. During this time Oracle bought Siebel. Bose left Oracle soon after the acquisition and joined ngpay.

Ms. Elizabeth Lucy Chapman, also known as Lizzie is the Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer at Zest Money along with the other two co-founders, Priya Sharma and Ashish Anantharaman Lizzie and the other two co-founders, were colleagues at a UK-based finance company called Wonga, She is now based out of Bengaluru is in charge of marketing and acquisitions at ZestMoney. She has also served as the executive director of DBS Digital Bank, and was the first woman to be appointed a director on the board of IndiaMART, the online marketplace for SME players. She finds it so much easier to do business in the financial sector here in India than in London and according to her, in the financial sector in India, women do definitely rule.

Mr. Richard Eldridge serves as Executive Officer and Director of Lenddo International. He is responsible for the success of Lenddo across Asia as well as developing the long-term strategic direction across the world. Previously he has more than 6 years turn-around management consultancy experience across various industries, business functions and cultures in 8 countries with Renoir consulting and since 2001 been one of the pioneers in the outsourcing industry in the Philippines, having successfully set up, ran and grown 2 outsourcing companies, Summersault and Infinit-O. J. P. Ellis co-founded and is currently leading the Compare88 Group, Southeast Asia’s largest financial comparison e-commerce group. Previously, J. P. was a private equity executive as well as the founder of two award-winning maptechcompanies: Mapiary.com and Harpoen (which pitched at Tech in Asia Jakarta 2012 and won the World Summit Awards in 2013). Currently, J. P. is one of the initiators of FinTech Indonesia, the Indonesian financial services technology association. He holds a B.A. from Columbia University in New York City, has over a decade of experience in Southeast Asia, and is fluent in several Asian languages.
Barry Freeman is a Co-Founder of PINTEC, a leading Chinese fintech marketplace. PINTEC is an intelligent financial services technology platform that uses big data and digital technologies to provide effective financial solutions for consumers and small businesses. Prior to co-founding PINTEC, Mr. Freeman was CFO and Executive Director of Credit Heng, a non-bank financial lender based in Yunnan Province, China. Previously, Mr. Freeman was a founder of Huasong Capital Ltd., a Kunming; China based investment management firm, and a vice president at Knight Capital Americas, L.P, an equity trading and investment-banking firm in New York. Judah Hirsch is the Founder and CEO at SALarium. Winning the Seedstars event in Manila, Judah will join them in Geneva to present his startup, Salarium. Judah managed 1,500 employee BPO, founded and managed Triple i Consulting, a leading business process service provider in the Philippines. At Salarium, Judah is responsible for Business Development, Sales, and ultimately everything.
In 2013, Hose and fellow Silicon Valley entrepreneur Runar Petursson founded Coins.ph, an avenue for Filipinos to buy and sell bitcoins. It even allows the purchase of fractional bitcoins, which means there’s no minimum amount for a bitcoin purchase. Hose says he sees people buying stakes in bitcoins for as little as Php 200 (US$4). For him, it’s working for the market because this is where it’s starting to cater to a mass audience to use Bitcoins. Hose declined to reveal the transaction volume or any user-base numbers on Coins.ph, but he says the exchange is seeing double growth in month-on-month transactions. Through its automated trading process, Coins.ph lets users get bitcoins the next business day after the confirmation of payment.

Mr. Htite is a Co-Founder of Shanghai DianRong Financial Services Co., Ltd. and serves as its Chief Executive Officer. He served as Vice President of Engineering at LendingClub Corporation since February 2007. From 1997 to 2007, Mr. Htite served as Senior Development Manager for Oracle Corporation. Mr. Htite has spent most of his professional career building enterprise-level software with Oracle Corporation. He focused on real-time online services and system design for high availability. He held a senior product development position in the Oracle core server technologies team, and lead research projects focusing on diagnosability and online system management services.

Mr. Simon Loong co-founded WeLab Holdings Limited in 2013 and serves as its Chief Executive Officer. He spent over 15 years in the banking sector. He has held a variety of senior positions at both Citibank and Standard Chartered Bank. He served as Standard Chartered’s Regional Head of Northeast Asia, where he managed the personal loan and credit card businesses, transforming it into one of the largest and most profitable businesses of its kind in Greater China. He also served on Standard Chartered’s Consumer Bank Management committee in Hong Kong. Mr. Loong is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a master’s degree from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Alex is the CEO of FInFabrik. With a career spanning 18 years in FinServ and Fintech spent in the trenches of various Global Tier 1 financial institutions doing and managing others, zeroing in his delivery on the client both internal and external across various business lines, markets and asset classes. Born to a family of educators in Bangladesh, Mehedi started his career as Software & Mobile Application Developer. He started his first startup in 2014 and made the company self sustainable. He has a degree in Computing from University of Greenwich and currently living in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Mehedi is passionate about democratizing technology to enhance and impact the life of millions of across Asia.
Matt graduated with a law degree from the University of Melbourne and has worked as an attorney for both Korea’s largest law firm, Kim & Chang, and one of Australia’s largest law firms, Minter Ellison. Matt has more than 20 years experience in building, operating and investing in technology-based businesses. Matt has spent most of his life living in three amazing cities Melbourne, Sydney and San Francisco. After returning to Sydney in 2011 Matt co-founded SocietyOne (Australias first marketplace lender) and GetCreditScore (Australias largest free credit score service). Matt is currently engaged in several machine learning and artificial intelligence projects including Red Marker, an Australian RegTech pioneer. Red Marker has developed Artemis an automated compliance solution for regulated entities.
Mio Takaoka has been General Manager of New Business Planning Office and Executive Director at Monex Group, Inc. since February 2014. Mio Takaoka served as Manager, GMC Office; Manager, Strategic Planning Office; and Manager, Chief Executive Officer Office at Monex Group.

Adrianna works on the intersection of tech, content and social. From founding and growing tech startups in Southeast Asia to starting and running non-profits in India, she believes strongly that technology and social good can and should go together. In 2014, she founded Wobe, an innovative take on financial services for the low income segment of Southeast Asia. Headquartered in Jakarta and Singapore, Wobe will put the power of micro-entrepreneurship into the hands of millions, with the support of one of the largest telcos in the region. Yosuke Tsuji serves as CEO since the establishment of Money Forward. From 2001 to 2004, he was in Sony finance department. After Sony, he worked at Monex Securities, one of the largest online brokerage firms in Japan, and engaged in marketing and business development from 2004 to 2012. He also served as Chief of Marketing Department. Yosuke graduated from Kyoto University in 2001 and Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania (MBA) in 2011.

Dr. Zhengyu (Zane) Wang, founded China Rapid Finance and holds the positions of chairman and chief executive officer. In addition to his position at China Rapid Finance, Dr. Wang also advised the People’s Bank Of China on the creation of the National Credit Bureau from 2003 to 2005. Before founding China Rapid Finance, Dr. Wang was the Head of Analytics at Sears Credit from 1995 to 2000, where he oversaw the creation of a credit data warehouse, developed credit scoring models using credit bureau data, and implemented analytically driven consumer credit borrower acquisitions and portfolio management strategies. Dr. Wang received his Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of Illinois, and his master of science degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Dusan has also contributed to a number of different organizations and entrepreneurs through donations. After his 3 exits in 2012, he donated a portion of his proceeds to save the last Tesla Lab, the Tesla Science Centre on Long Island, New York State. He is also did a smaller donation to the Tesla Statue in Palo Alto. As a distant relative to Nikola Tesla, Dusan is a strong supporter of all things Tesla. In 2015, he had one major exit and some partial exits, One was Prowebce which was sold to Edenred in May. One of the partial exits was when SharesPost sold its interest in NASDAQ Private Market to Nasdaq, Inc.
