The chief executive of ANZ says the way banks handle the customers affected by the coronavirus crisis could be a redemption moment for the major lenders. The banking royal commission commissioner called for an overhaul of the sector, after his probe found major flaws in the system and highlighted misconduct by some institutions.
“We’re going to be judged, not on what we say…but what we actually do,” Shayne Elliot told Virginia Trioli. “We all know that we have a role to play in any crisis.”
